At home today!

Sunday 27th May 2007 14:17

What a day, it is soo cold and wet that it is necessary to have the heat on! I've been passing the day cleaning and scheming! Mark (son) works some odd shifts as a police man, and sometimes gets 3 or 4 days off on the trot, after a long shift....so we've decided to enjoy a few days in Le Touquet and Wimereux together, in July. I absolutely adore the Thalassatherapy Centre on Le Touquet Beach, followed up by a lovely meal at the Atlantic Hotel on Wimereux seafront. The meals there rank amongst some of the best ever eaten...so am delighted to spend some time bonding with my boy!

Friday again!

Friday 25th May 2007 15:02

I'm actually back in Newark today, awaiting a job to be done on the motorhome....and frustratingly, the job still wont be completed today, with talk of us returning again next week.
On the way home we went to Salthouse in North Norfolk for a seafood supper. A little beach place called Cookies! Check out www.cookies.shopkeeper.co.uk. The biggest plate of crabs, prawns, cockles, fish and salad imaginable for £6!!!
The next morning we walked at 5am though the salt marshes to the hides in the Cley Wildlife Centre. Then back to Norwich and back to work!

Hairdressers today!

Wednesday 23rd May 2007 14:45

For a few years I have felt uneasy about trips to the hairdressers. Mainly because I feel I fall in an awkward area of not wanting a high fashion 'do' and not wanting a granny 'do' either. And I havent found a hairdresser who didnt seem to want to place me in one of the two categories. However, Saks recently opened in the City Centre...with visits from 'ten years younger' hairdresser Andrew Barton. The salon is run by the capable young owner Jordan....and at long last I got a decent cut, ideal for a woman of my age! So give them a try....we've also got lots of discount vouchers to give away for first time visitors to the salon, so pop into Walkers and collect one!

ouch...the dentist today!

Tuesday 22nd May 2007 10:10

I would rather go anywhere than the dentist, but today is the long awaited appointment to get a couple of small jobs done! The local dentist is sooo busy, two or three month waits are the norm, so I cant afford to let this appointmet slip! There is a plus side to this scenario, in that the dentist himself is drop dead gorgeous!!! And I shall have him all to myself for about an hour!!!! Now how sad is that?!!
It is a lovely sunny day today, my ideal would be to work a kind of flexitime, whereby I only come to work when it is cloudy or cold! I just mentioned this great new idea to the Hubby....his answer was unprintable!!
