My Journey as a Textile Artist

" My love for textiles began early, learning basic sewing skills in school during craft lessons. At the time, I was more drawn to knitting and crochet. Over the years, I dabbled in painting on my own clothes, using acrylics to give them a unique, personal flair.

In 2016, I moved to Berlin and became part of a creative party collective, Ram Schakl, where we built stages for festivals using recycled street materials. Our concept was “broken but still beautiful,” embracing a patchwork style that deeply influenced me. Around this time, I was also immersed in performance art—pole dance, aerial hoop, and acrobatics—and started designing costumes for our shows. With access to a sewing machine, I discovered a whole new creative outlet and quickly fell in love with the process of making wearable art from repurposed materials.

I had the chance to learn more technical sewing skills from a wonderful woman I met during that time, helping her create a collection for the festival season. That experience taught me so much and gave me confidence to pursue my own style.

Later, I moved to southern Portugal, where I now live off-grid with my family—our land is home to goats, mini pigs, chickens, and a whole lot of creativity. Motherhood shifted my focus from festival costumes to more practical, everyday wear, but my style still carries that same playful, layered, textured vibe. I’ve also started making cuddle toys, bringing to life quirky creatures from scraps of fabric.

Today, I continue to explore my path as a textile artist, inspired by nature, recycling, imperfection, and freedom of expression. Every piece I create carries a story—stitched with care, curiosity, and a touch of wild imagination. "
